This blog was originally conceived to stave off boredom. The story goes that, one day, bored out of my mind and with nothing whatsoever to do, I asked some friends for advice. It was Joseph who suggested that I write a blog, at which point it was revealed that Micheal also intended to write a blog at some point and that Joseph himself wanted to write another small blog. So we all agreed, we would write a blog of our own.
The problem came, of course, in deciding certain things. What were we writing about? What kind of style would our blog be? Our blog name? And so on. Eventually, we came up with the, at the time, interesting idea of making a classy blog. Yet, we were joined by Ryan and William, our motives became confused, and our tone lost. Juxtaposed with the serious description written by Maddox, “And for what it's worth, we're working on it.”, and the like, we have Ryan’s introductory post, with his description of “saving a bus full of orphans from a freak bear attack” and so on. Clearly, we became confused along the way, and now we’re in a weird no-man’s-land of tone.
Another issue which arose is subject matter. As we all met in the same community, we obviously had certain similar taste-overlaps. We soon found that these overlaps extended to include things on politics, books, movies, music, sport, etc., you know, just the major things that blogs by one person are usually written about. So we ended up with confusion as to how to divide up who would write about what, with no one really knowing what was going on.
And then we have the writers themselves. Joseph, for all his good qualities, is the biggest procrastinator known to mankind, and despite being interested in a great deal of things, the fact his other blog has 2 posts, only 1 by him which is a paragraph long introduction, is testament to his apathetic abilities. Ryan is far too artistic and as a consequence, has, it would seem, little time to write for the blog. William doesn’t really know what he is writing about, due to the aforementioned confusion over topics, Micheal has plenty to write about but, due to the extra work involved in his fashion section, has never gotten round to things, and then we have me, with occasional bouts of free time, divided by long slogs of a great deal of work.
So, to conclude, we don’t know what we’re doing, we don’t know how we’re writing it and no one has any time to write anything anyway. Hence, this blog will never be successful.
